I'm trying to start metal screaming, but it's alot harder than you think. At first, you gotta sing (easy huh?). Then make you voice heavier and heavier sounding until you sound like krusty the clown. Then you pretty much keep doing that until you can barely even hear the pitch anymore. Its alot harder than it sounds. If you've tried it or try it now, you'll realize that. But I'm trying to do it. I've heard it's not supposed to hurt, or your doing it wrong. But you always have to keep hydrated otherwise you can really damage your throat. I'm gonna work on it all this year and probably for the rest of my life. If you want to know more, ask questions about this.

Ya you definitly need A LOT of water. The singer for AILD was drinking tons. (Plus it was really hot in the venue so...)

But Jeff, all I can say is keep practicing and practicing. Your voice will adapt.

HOLY SHIT!!!!! I DID IT!!!!! Yes. I now know how to inhale scream (thats lame though) and FRY scream. Unfortunately, fry screaming is not nearly as cool as false screaming. Fry screaming is what bullet for my valentine, atreyu, blessthefall, and alot more bands use. Its not what you'd think its like. You know in the grudge, that grumbly sound? Its like that but falsetto version. ALOT harder than it sounds. It took me all day to figure it out. Its pretty cool though. If I show you it at school tomorrow though, it sounds really gayyyyyy w/o a mic. Its generally really quite, thats why people who scream like that cup the mic and have it really close to there mouth. Unfortunately, it sounds nothing like some of the screams I was looking for. The "false" screams are based off of just making your voice heavier. Wait, JK, thats death screaming. That kills your voice and I can do that kinda. You just need to be hydrated and kinda have your throat slimy (yea, that sounds gross, but u know what I mean). I learned how to do that but it does hurt. And it sounds almost exactly like false. False is based on using different parts of your throat and mouth (NOT your vocal chords necessarily) to produce a scream. Haven't quite figured it out yet, but if I get a chance, I will do that. But until then, fry screaming is pretty cool and IM SO HAPPYYY!!!!

lol, that will be my job then. jeez, ever since I learned, ive liked and respected screaming bands alot more. btw, screaming DOES NOT hurt your voice. If it does, your doing it wrong.

i dont know fo sure but i think its just that he doesnt really listen to that music. Maybe im projecting, sry. Its just that if he doesnt listen to it mebe he'd be less inclined to do it?
