| W00t!!!! Paris is cool, and I've only really been here for 3 hours and most of that was sleep. But I'm doing better speaking French than I thought I would. Apolline's (a.k.a. French exchange student) mother cannot speak English and we spoke to each other in French and I did just fine. No offense Val, but I think I'm going to have more fun than you did because I've never been to Europe before and I can barely speak French. Plus I'm not sitting in a house with my grandparents everyday. Anyways, I'm having fun and actually really glad we came. The first thing I noticed about France were the cars, most of them are hatchbacks which was weird to see considering in the US, most of the cars are either SUV's or coupes. Second thing I noticed were that there were a billion motorcycles/vespas around. Third thing I noticed was that the motorcycles/vespas drive insane by weaving inbetween cars really fast. It was cool to see and probably intense to do, but if you messed up, goodbye. I'm kinda getting used to the time change though it's 6:00 P.M. and I feel like its 11:00 A.M. (which it is back home) but its not that bad. The plane ride wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I FINALLY SAW IRONMAN!!!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! But I couldn't sleep that well. Got maybe 20 minutes of sleep the whole flight. but I watched 3 movies and ate a bunch. But yea, nothing more to say right now because there nothing more to tell. So yea.... | |

| Wow, like I'm awake at 4:50 in the morning, but I do take french in school and I'm one of the best in my class (except for the frenchis who drop down because they want an easy A). But my mom likes to speak it and so do I. I don't usually say all that much, but a lot of people have told me my accent is perfect (maybe their just comparing me to my parents because their accent is dreadful). But my parents are starting to piss me off with how much their accent sucks. It's just embarrassing. I should probably go back to bed right now considering I'm going to have a long day/night today. Its kinda weird that its wednesday here and tuesday there, and its like 10 there and 5 here. I'll eventually get used to the time change but its actually a little harder than I thought (because I'm awake right now). O yea, the food is AWESOME!!!! w00t, especially the coffee. Now, I'm a big coffee guy, but the coffee here just makes me want to move here its so good. Its WAY stronger than in america, but thats a good thing to me. Lol, its kinda funny that I'm sitting here, half-naked, at 5:00 in the morning. I'm gonna regret that tonite. Well, I'm going to attempt to get back to sleep but I'm really hungry . I just wanna eat already and begin the day. Maybe not. Sorry I'm writing so much but I really have nothing else to do right now and mind as well keep writing. O yea, my bed is really fucking small!! My feet hang off the end. But the apartment were staying in is really nice and it has a/c (one of the few in france). Although just opening the window is better in my opinion. Maybe I should just sit here until someone wakes up. Nah, I'll try to sleep again. Btw, I'm probably gonna do something like this every single day. So if I'm pissing you off, tell me before I piss you off for two weeks. And I'll probably put in some pics later as well, that is if everyone isn't pissed off by me writing a frickin long journal everyday. *********************************************************************************************************************** Same day later at 11:43 p.m..... fun day today. Saw Notre Dame and the Louvre (which was cool). The Louvre got kinda repetitive after a while, but was still fun. Tonite was really fun. We went on a dinner cruise through Paris and saw pretty much every single famous monument from the river. I had 3 glasses of wine on the boat and a lot of awesome food. It's really hella expensive though. Thats actually the most expensive place I've ever eaten at. You didn't pay for the food separately, but pay up front 100 euros for each person. 5 people in my family = 500 euros which is like $600-$700! Thats like all the money I have! I thought it was kinda funny being served alcohol underage. My dad told me, " The drinking age is only a suggestion" which I thought was like half a joke. But now I actually believe him. We had our first english speaking taxi driver today which was a nice relief. A lot of people speak english, but not very well. OMFG my parents accents are soooo terrible. Its getting to the point where its just unbearable. I always have to repeat what they say to the french people so that they can understand. But whatever, we can get by. Val would probably laugh seeing me so confused at some points to what people are saying. But right now I have a raging headache and god I had this coffee earlier that was uber strong and it didn't help that with the caffeine. But I should probably get to sleep because I'm still fighting the jet lag a bit and my headache and alcohol and caffiene and this really fucking annoying fan behind me and all sorts of other things aren't boding well for me at the moment. So I would like to see some feedback positive or negative because I feel like I am talking to no one right now and could rant on all night but should probably shut up now. Bye | |

| Yah, my internetz done broke for a while. But anyways, I'm in this huge house in Brechamps, France (which is in the middle of nowhere). But a huge house and 30 acres of LAND!!!! W00T!!!! It has its own lake to itself. I caught a fish in it. It also has its own 3 hole golf course. And a pool. And it was UBER cheap. Well, according to my dad (which I'm not so sure about). But it is in the middle of nowhere and it took us 5 hours to find it by car. Really hard to get too. But my internet finally works again. But I kinda wanna come home now because I've already done everything that I can this visit. I wanna go back to Paris, but I'm not sure thats gonna happen. Oh yea, I got drunk for teh first time!!!!! W00t . My mom got really pissed at my dad though. Oh yeah, Matt, white wine IS awesome!!! But did you guys go paintballin w/o me?!?!?! What have been doing. Nothing or something really cool and I'll get pissed? | |

| I would separate it into two parts. The Paris part gets a 9. Yea, it was that awesome. The country part gets a 7 because drinking beer was still fun. I was kinda disappointed at the restaurants here when I didn't get served alcohol. But whatever. Yea, loved Paris. I just wanted to stay there. O yea, another thing about being back, hearing ENGLISH! OMG, its soo nice. I don't have to think to understand. What a relief!!! But Paris was still really cool besides the fact that I had to think to understand. | |

| Your parents still have to order the alcohol. You can't buy anything until your 18. Hard liquor is at 21. | |

| Pffffff, so? It's a lot better than the policy here. Besides, its not like its gonna make us stupid. Were already have too many stupid people, thats why bush got elected. I think if it wasn't such a strict law, then people wouldn't binge in college as much because it wouldn't be as much of a big deal. | |

| So you are saying alcohol doesn't make stupid people stupid because they are already stupid? Well in that case,it just makes them stupiderer. | |

| No, I'm saying that if its introduced to you when your young (and just little bits), then people won't binge on it as soon as they get the privilege to drink. And having a little bit everyday with a meal isn't going to make the whole world retarded. | |

| There we go. That is my exact argument Oh btw I was wrong. You can buy liquor at 16. Hard stuff at 18. And it is socially acceptable for teenagers to drink with their family. w/o is a totally different matter. In fact if people know you drink w/o your family and you are underage they think you are a fuck up and avoid you ^^ | |
