| That mic set is $120. So divided by 5 people is only $24 each. I think we can all pitch that in and get it. Its a good deal, one of those mics is $99, and that package has 3 with stands!!! We should meet this weekend or next and gather $ and buy it. | |

| Well, since lots of people r gonna be gone, that sux. ROAR!!!!! Is this gonna work guys? Matt, you may think I'm a creeper but whatever. I spent half an hour reading you and Ellie's wall posts (ya, thats how cool I am). But it seems like your always busy. Seriously, if this is ever going to happen, we need to meet ASAP. Tuesdays and Thursdays can only be earlier in the day (unless me and matt and scott want to miss soccer [which is 3 people]). Otherwise, I'm pretty much free. Matt should post his schedule as well as everyone else who has planned activities they can't miss. I've always wanted to make a band, so lets do it! WE NEED TO MEET!!! UGH! I'm free this next week, but I know Joe has tennis everyday from 1-4. I have drivers ed coming up soon (early July) and Val's going to france. Then we have a week and then I'm going to france and matts going to new mexico or something. I really want to do this. Lets work around peoples schedules to make it work. If we never try, it'll never happen. So lets DO IT!!!!!!!!! | |

| Ya. Now you know how I feel about Pball. Everyone can't go. So I gave up on that part. But I am gone Thursday through Tuesday. But then after that I think I am pretty free. | |

| Haha... I just looked this over again. All summer long we didnt jam and wen skool starts we do. It was alot of fun tho. We should look over band names again. And try to create more songs. Or play more songs we know. I'd say our biggest problem right now is transitions. But thats hard to avoid because pressing those buttons in the middle of playing is practically impossible. But we should try to be more organized. Think of a list of songs we should play and post them here. Here's my list (ps, try to not pick stuff weve already played even tho I'll post some here): Pain - Three Days Grace Animal I Have Become - Three Days Grace Cold - Crossfade Holiday - Green Day Fine Again - Seether I know we can think of A LOT more but w/e. We should try some lighter stuff though too. We never really played light while we had the bass. Val - I suggest looking at some drum parts for songs. Try to look for fills and just a bunch of basic beats. If you figure that out then it will make your life a lot easier. Matt - Good job on bass. You kinda did better than me and Joe when we played after you left. I don't really think you need to look up parts really because its pretty self explanatory. Joe - Ok, this is where things change. We need to find more things to play with 2 guitars. Or create them. And keep using picks because if you can get rhythms down, we'll sound a lot better. But until further notice, I think you will be lead guitar because you seem to have a better strength in solos than me and I'm better in rhythm stuff. | |

| hmmmmm... k jeff great ideas i must say. you and i need to work on guitar parts and stuff and harmonies and bass parts. and val i know this sounds really dumb like what would i know about drums but i absolutely LOVE drum programming and id be so pumped if you and i could work on that. joe, you and i need to crack down on lyrics and stuff, cuz ive written a bunch of stuff but its not all rhythmical and it needs finalizing. you and i can work on stuff that you've written too, im just not aware of anything that you've written, if you have. | |

| Alright. In terms of making a song, the chord progression (in the verses) should come first. Then the chorus. Then lyrics. Along with chord progression comes drum stuff too. But seriously, we need an average chord progression, then move on from there with rhythms and such. I think we can do that no problem. just when | |

| heres me and jeff's progression in barre MEASURES: standard tuning 4/4 stuff in parenthesis is a phrase (of 4 measures)
VERSE Joe: (A, C, G, D) (A, E, [high]G, [high]A) (last 2 measures //x3// ) Jeff: (A, C, G, D) (A, E, [high]G, D) (last 2 measures //x3// )
CHORUS ??????????????????? ???????????????????
mebe one of us could play 1 octave up so it doesnt sound so jumbled/grainy. Val- make something up, easy for this kind of thing. But for the form, i was thinking Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Solo, Verse, Chorus, Outro. Pretty standard in other words, but for a first song...
edit: Matt just play the base of the chord for the bass, or... idk you are a lot better at bass than me, make something up...

| kk, I def think we can come up with something better though. But for the sake of writing a song and learning from it, sure.
I had the impression that Matt and Val would be more towards the lyrics side while Joe and myself would be more into the progressions and such. Of course it doesn't have to be set in stone like that, but I would say that's where our talents lie.
Should there be a band leader? If so, I'd have to vote Matt. He just seems to be more of a leader (even though he will deny this). Like last year when the teachers awarded you leader of something and you were like "what?". Yea, hate to break it to ya, but it seems to me like you are.
Val! Where's your input in all this? I know your hella busy and all that, but plz respond to this next time your on the forum.
Lastly for this post, backup singing. Since I've given Joe lead guitar, I think I should be backup singer. I kinda sang a bit when I was playing drums. Of course no one really heard me, but w/e. But if we that two mic deal, I would be more than willing to backup sing. Plus I can sing and play guitar because I have a lot before. I'll switch off with Joe if he wants, but, idk. You can choose who it should be. But I'm all in for that.
So yea, get back to this with another chord progression I'll write tomorrow and then hopefully we can play some stuff this weekend. I don't have plans. What dates is everyone open to?

| IF you can play well enough for a whole song, then I would encourage you to join us. But just don't waste our time by not knowing how to play something and we spend all our time helping you vs playing as a whole. | |

| DOUBLE POST GRRRR
jk, revival of the forum makes it an exception
k, well, a lot of stuff has happened since the last post. pretty much all the songs we were gonna play were murdered. SO, i'm just gonna be replying to the FB band chat thang basically. so, songwise, were kinda being wayyyy to critical of what to play. i suggest we all play a song we like. thats the most fair. of course, make it easy enough so all of us can play it (which is gonna be the only rule cuz i just wanna play some songs already). how about just to tick everyone off, pick a song that ONLY you like that we can all play. that will make us be forced to play something we usually wouldnt. is that productive for an upcoming concert that we have to play songs people like? mebe, actually totally not, but mebe we can find what suits us best. as for my song, i would pick unholy confessions. sry matt, its instrumentals and how well we can play it totally overpower the lyrics IMO, so thats my choice. matt, you dont have to scream it, watch it live cuz they dont scream it. anyways, thats my choice. totally just broke one of my own rules which was to find something that ONLY you like, but i think if we could play one song, i would choose that.
now, idc how boring the guitar part is or whatever, mostly just that everyones happy and it sounds GOOD. joe gets ticked when its too easy (which is kinda bad cuz that eliminates 3/4 the music in the world), matt says "eh" which in reality means "GTFO AND BURN IT WITH FIRE", and val....i have no idea, dont think you care too much either which is good. now, i'm not saying i don't have flaws. i realize that when val walks away and i dart to the drums, yea, its really annoying. but, tehehehe, opportunity cost (yay econ). my fun>my guilt for pissing you off ^^. i wont do it anymore tho; i havent played guitar that much recently and have to regain mah skillz.
anyways, yea, pick your song and we will play it regardless of what everyone else thinks. i hope you guys agree with me on this, plz?
